Happy Night on Fic Mountain! Whoever you are and whatever canon(s) brought you here, I hope you find this pleasing, rewarding, and low on stress.

The following skirts the lines of TL;DR, but I want to emphasize up front that I am genuinely in love with all of these canons, as well as desperate for fic for them, so anything you produce that doesn't hit my squicks will be A++. Prompts are mostly me throwing wild ideas at the walls and seeing what sticks; if you have something roiling around in your brain you really want to write for these fandoms and characters, go for it! In general, all ratings from gen to depraved NC-17 porn are good, and all gender combos are fine. Also, there may be some slight variations in length between fandoms below, but that's mostly due to my writing this piecemeal over many days and not due to any difference in excitement or preference for certain fandoms!

I specifically requested just fic for all for matching purposes, but if for whatever reason you read this and find yourself desperate to draw, I will gladly take and love your art as a treat as well.

If you want to find me in the wild, I'm:

And with that, on to the letter itself!

LIKES AND DISLIKES

Please no: first or second person POV, pregnancy/childfic, deathfic, angst without some light at the end of the tunnel, horror/gore, character bashing, AUs (except canon divergence, future fic, and daemon AUs), tentacles, body horror/extreme body modification, omegaverse, rape/noncon, bodily fluids/watersports, anything dealing with the sexual humiliation of women (even for kink) (exception to this is some femslash--see below where relevant)

THE AMERICANS (TV 2013)

Sign-Up Details:
I love The Americans for so many reasons: the period piece setting, their flawless use of 70s and 80s music, the subtle pisstakes they do of Reagan, the gray morality/use of antiheros, the deliberate blurring of lines and parallels between Americans and Soviets (both legal and illegal) and their relationships with their governments, the action, the black humor, the absurd wigs and costuming. With these characters and relationships, I'm all about exploring those levels of grey, the life of spies, the adrenaline thrills they get, the blurring of selves and that influence over time as American and Soviet worlds collide and absorb one another, as well as exploring Soviet and Rezidentura culture specifically.

(I am keeping up with the show weekly as s4 airs, so feel free to throw in some s4 spoilers if you really want.)

  • Elizabeth Jennings: I adore Elizabeth, her brutal ideological devotion and yet her honest love for her children and for Philip, even if it doesn't always come easily. I'd be happy with just about any fic centered on her and her life story, as long as it's not too unrelentingly grimdark: What was her life like before her father's death? What about snippets from her and her mother's relationship? What about her first days in the US with Philip? What about meeting Gregory? What about her meeting Arkady or Oleg or Nina somehow, even for a moment?
  • Arkady Ivanovich: Arkady is exactly the sort of sardonic but devoted authority figure/bureaucrat I love, and I'd love to get to know him better. What is his backstory? What did he think on first being promoted to Rezident? What about his relationships with his underlings--Nina, Oleg, Tatiana? Little scenes of him being Russian in the US, too (smoking? vodka? tea? bitching about something or other?) are great.
  • Oleg Igorevich Burov: I disliked Oleg when he first appeared in season 2, but he's seriously grown on me as he's grown away somewhat from his swaggering nepotistic asshole self of those early days. More of him with his father, or with Arkady or Nina, would be great, either in the US or Russia--him softening somewhat? Him working his connections for the greater good? His thoughts and dealings with Stan and other Americans? Him mocking the intelligence from Mail Robot? Just a day in the life of the chaos of the Rezidentura?
  • Elizabeth/Philip: What was Elizabeth and Philip's wedding night and/or earlier relationship like? What about them on a stakeout, discussing things they shouldn't, fucking? Anything with them developing their relationship, either in one moment or across the years, would be great--it's okay, despite my general dislike of pregnancy/childfic mentioned above, to mention Paige and Henry, but please don't linger on them.

CAROL (2015)

Sign-Up Details:
I adore this movie so much, all the women in it and the ways they are drawn to one another despite the (mostly male) fuckery around them. I love queerness explored against less welcoming societies, particularly when the characters are nonetheless unabashed about their "deviance," and I love women claiming happiness for themselves in a society that expects that female happiness is to be found in their husbands. I love roadtripping, the aesthetic of the open road and the little pieces of 1950s daily life seen on screen, the sense of freedom only to come crashing back down, and then getting that freedom anyway by the end. I am pretty much game for most anything with these women, be it precanon Abby/Carol exploration, Carol/Therese development, Carol's past, how Carol and Therese act during their months apart, whatever.

  • Carol Aird: I love nearly everything about Carol--her love for Rindy and yet how she chooses her own happiness and freedom over direct motherhood, her bitterness that she's willing to grow out of when necessary, her attempts to keep things afloat. Snapshots from her childhood and relations with her family? What her early days with Harge were like (was Abby always on the back burner?)? The early days of meeting Therese, through her eyes? What she did during her months of no-contact with Therese?
  • Therese Belivet: Therese fascinates me because of her apparent passivity and yet her willingness to throw everything aside to actually grasp what she wants when it comes to Carol, even if the road isn't smooth. I'd love to see her attempting to grow without Carol while working at the paper, her doing photography (either as a hobby or postmovie as some kind of career), her early life and relationships (how did she end up with Richard? What does she think of men in general aside from him?), and more.
  • Carol/Therese: These two :3 Essentially anything with them is fine, but I'm especially fond of them roadtripping (maybe as an anniversary gift to themselves, or snapshots from the roadtrip in the movie?), traveling in general (they go to Europe?), doing photography, hanging out listening to records and drinking and doing make-up, even just more domestic postmovie bits from their new life together.
  • Abby/Carol: I'd love to see how they got together, them sleeping together fervently and awkwardly, having to hide it from those around them, whatever. Also them being together while Carol is still married, or them taking Rindy out somewhere and yet unable to keep their eyes off each other, them doing filthy things in the back seat of Carol's car, them roadtripping, them maybe trying each other out while Carol is no-contact with Therese and deciding against it, essentially whatever.

THE GOBLIN EMPEROR - KATHERINE ADDISON

Sign-Up Details:
I love the worldbuilding, the loyalty kink, the playing around with language and formality and customs and blending of elves and goblins. With these I'm particularly interested in all of that, as well as the burgeoning feminist movements in the Ethuveraz, secretly transgressing the office of the emperor, and in general the ways races and sexes mix and match, changing bits of culture and their own levels of formality over time, in the lavish world Addison has created. Csevet's past? Competency porn? Maia needing Csevet's help or vice versa?

  • Csevet Aisava: I'd love to see more of Csevet's past, how he discovered his homosexuality, him experimenting with men, whatever. Or maybe he gets into a scrape around canon-times and manages to get out of it without Maia knowing? (Or so he thinks.) Or him offering instruction on something to Maia (marriage? Sex? Some bit of etiquette Maia doesn't know?).
  • Maia Drazhar: His memories of his mother? (Worldbuilding about the goblins or the Ethuveraz or both welcome.) Stories he's heard of his father? Him being incredibly competent in handling something? (Or, conversely, him really bungling something and needing the help of Csevet/Csethiro/whomever.)
  • Csevet/Maia (if you want to go there): God, the trust that develops between these two is so beautiful. I'd love a bit of loyalty kink-ish devotion there, playing with formality, but also turning that on its head and Maia worshipping Csevet the way Csevet deserves to be worshipped. Office/desk sex? Maia taking Csevet to his bed despite the danger?

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE - JANE AUSTEN

Sign-Up Details:
I love Austen's humor, the biting satire, the wittiness, the vivid pictures of interpersonal life in a world different from ours now and yet in some ways still very much the same. With these relationships I particularly enjoy playing around with social classes and gender, inasmuch as one can do in the Georgian period, as well as playing with the trappings of that world: the cravats, the boots, the large houses, the bustling families, the drama of families and wards, the repression and where it breaks, the potential for subtle rejection of the prevailing social norms. Hidden queerness nonetheless delighted in? Bingley/Darcy being more than just good friends? Lizzy and Darcy getting up to pranks and/or intense sex? Kitty and Georgiana living together and learning more about how much a woman can love another woman?

  • Elizabeth/Fitzwilliam: These two <3 Always so delightful. I love their bickering in canon, Lizzy bringing out the spirit in Darcy, and I love imagining their married life. (Mention of children is ok but please nothing focusing on pregnancy.) What's their first time like? Do they prank each other ever? Do they make out or something ~~more before they're even married? (Bonus points for Lizzy pegging Darcy and/or Darcy eating out Lizzy, if you want to go there.)
  • Charles/Fitzwilliam: I love the idea of Georgian/Regency friends trying to hide that they've been something more at some point, or just lowkey also being fuckbuddies on the side. How did they first get together? Do they occasionally fuck (with permission) after they're married? All the cravat/clothing porn especially welcome.
  • Georgiana/Kitty: A younger pair (almost like a younger generation in some ways), but I'd love to see them getting together while Kitty is at Pemberley, getting into scrapes of some sort, playing music together, and learning illicit teenager-ish love at one another's hands. A time skip ahead to later in life, and their correspondence with one another and love (or Kitty, maybe, remaining a spinster and still being with Georgiana from time to time?) would also be great.

A SINGLE MAN (2009)

Sign-Up Details:
I love George and Jim so damn much--their self-assuredness in the face of homophobia, the easy but heady love they share, their glimpses of domesticity despite the very institutionally homophobic setting, the way Jim lovingly calls George "old man." I'd love anything relatively happy that explores their characters separately or together--hinting at the angst to come is okay, but I do want to smile through any pangs. George still in Britain, meeting Charley and/or other men? Jim in the navy, or interacting with his parents in Colorado? More of them in the bar the night they meet? Skinny-dipping? Decadent sex? The sky's the limit! Bonus points for working in whatever past of Jim you might like (what is his day to day life like?), since he's fairly thinly characterized in the film.

  • George Falconer: I love George fiercely, his bitterness and yet the more loving part of him that is able to love Jim and enjoy Charley's company. Pretty much anything involving him is great, be it his childhood to some extent, him meeting Jim and his thoughts on that, what his early days with Charley were like, other men he was with before Jim, pretty much anything.
  • Jim (A Single Man): We know so little about Jim, overall--what is his family in Colorado like? What was his experience in the navy like? What does he do with his days while George is professor-ing? How does he interact with the annoying neighbors?
  • George/Jim (if you want to go there): My beloveds. Anything with them together is great, but I'm especially interested in them talking more about their lives amongst the mountains, them skinny-dipping together, what their first kiss/dance/sex is like, a continuation of the bar scene from the movie, them photographing each other in states of undress, them getting their dogs, whatever.

TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY - ALL MEDIA TYPES

Sign-Up Details:
One of the most realistic spy canons possible, a glorious autumnal ache, all beautiful muted colors and deception and emotional warfare and betrayal with none of the classic tropey flash. I love to have that as background for romps in the interpersonal world, be it the Greek tragedy of Bill/Jim, the Holmes/Watson affair of George/Peter, or general explorations of Bill's amorality and feelings on things, Jim's life beyond just Bill, or Ann's life story and her relations with various men and/or women.

  • Bill Haydon: Bill is terrible, and I love him. All of his snark and amorality welcome, as are any glimpses of a softer side of him. His childhood and dealing with distant parents? Him painting? Him seducing someone? Him meeting with Karla or Polly about one thing or another? Him at Oxford being a cad? Him angsting (or attempting not to) in jail?
  • Jim Prideaux: What did Jim think/do while his family was constantly moving around when he was growing up? What did he get up to at Oxford? How were his wartime experiences? Does he have any contact with his extended family after Oxford? What does he think of George, of Connie, of his secretaries, of Bill?
  • Ann Smiley: Why does she marry George? What does she think of her various infidelities, of Bill? How much does she know or suspect about Bill's loyalties and various issues over the years? What was her childhood like?
  • Bill/Jim: Almost literally anything, but I'd especially love earlier days, thick as thieves together working some case and fucking on the side, or attempting to do something non-spy-like (and failing?). I'm especially fond of seeing the potential ways in which Bill loves Jim (despite himself), even later when Bill is a committed mole, since that's more opague in canon.
  • George/Peter: In some ways a version of Holmes and Watson, but also with differences in age and temperament I'd love to see explored. How do these two relate on longer and more involved cases? Do they fuck in a safe house somewhere? Does George gently take a desperate and off-the-rails Peter apart in order to calm him down? Peter having to calm George down in a rare explosive moment from George would also be amazing. In general, seeing them quietly taking care of one another, with moments of intense if repressed emotion, is my favorite.
